Children's Commissioner for Wales

This is our information hub for children, young people, and families in Wales.

We will post answers to your questions, be honest when we don’t have the answers, post ideas, things to do while at home and things make you relax and laugh.

All children have the right to reliable information under the UNCRC.

Everything will be as bilingual as we can make it, and we will involve you in curating and writing materials.

We want to build this space with you, so please send us any suggestions you have, and please feel free to send your questions over.

Together stronger. We will get through this.

Resources for Schools, Young People and Families and those that work with them

Our Under 25s officer Tim Feak has compiled a comprehensive list of resources for young people and children. In this time of uncertainty and anxiety it is important that we as a church strive to look after the children, young people and families in our communities. Whether parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, children’s workers, youth chaplains or clergy there are ways to bring support and hope to people. Below are some ideas from my wonderful colleagues and a few from me that I hope help!

Coronavirus - A Book For Children

The brilliant illustrator Axel Scheffler (the Gruffalo stories), has produced a book about the Coronavirus just for children. It’s available as a FREE download. It’s full of helpful answers to children’s questions - do it’s useful for adults too!

Resources for parents of children with additional needs during the COVID 19 outbreak

Our children bring us so much joy. But looking after a child with additional needs can often be stressful even at the best of times. However during the current Corona Virus outbreak when we are worrying about everybody’s health and wellbeing it is likely to be especially stressful, particularly with the schools closed and when we may all be isolating ourselves. We’ve pulled together some resources that we hope will help you look after yourself as well as your children during these difficult times.
