‘I am pleased to see that the Eco-Schools process is still running effectively at Ysgol Llanddulas and that you have been able to continue to progress with new projects and ideas. It was a pleasure to hear from each of the Eco-Committee members the projects and actions they’ve been involved with and fantastic to see their knowledge and passion for the environment. I was very pleased to hear that the implementation of action plan targets as class based activities continues to go from strength to strength and also impressed with the excellent communication of your actions with the whole school community, through displays and social media.
I am delighted to confirm that you have retained your platinum Eco-Schools status and wish you every success with this year’s projects. Maintaining the Eco-Schools Platinum status is a fantastic achievement. The school, staff and pupils, should feel proud of their hard work and commitment.
Well done to all the members of the Eco Senedd group for all their hard work, to all the classes for their work on the Eco projects and a special thanks to Miss McIntosh for leading our Eco work across the school. DOSBARTH 3 – visit to see the Seals of Angel Bay / Morloi’r Porth
The children in Class 3 have a wonderful time on Friday, visiting Angel Bay to see the seals. They were able to see the grey seals moulting on the beach and sketched them on the beach. This term the class have been reading ‘Seal Surfer‘ by Michael Rosen in class and Miss Owen finished the story on the cliff tops while the children enjoyed hot chocolate and looked down at the seal! Thanks to Miss Webb and Miss Owen for organising the trip and well done to the children in Class 3 for being so sensible and not disturbing the seals on the beach.
DOSBARTH 2 CYNEFIN PROJECT
This week Fagner from Puppet Soup was joined by story teller Phil. Fagner worked with the children to explore ‘What it means to be Welsh?’ The children also had a great time animating their puppets.
Story tell Phil used traditional folk tales to illustrate the good qualities we value as we grow up. Using their imagination, the children re-enacted work roles in a Welsh village inspired by the story of St Cadoc.
After listening to the story of the Kaha Bird, the children worked in groups to make the shape and movement of the bird through drama work. The children had a great time again with a fantastic day of learning, fun and engagement – using the expressive arts to learn about some key concepts of belonging, values and differences between us all.
